Plastically Possible
Welcome to Plastically Possible! A fun, new way to create pictures of sea animals, using GenAI to compile artistic images from plastic waste.
By showcasing the staggering amount of plastic collected from just 1,000 yards of beach, the images invite everyone to consider their role in making our ocean and environment a better place, one piece of plastic at a time.
Beach Plastic and Ocean Recovery Alliance have been collaborating to bring about creative change for almost two decades. Since 1999, Richard Lang and Judith Selby Lang have been transforming the plastic they have found on Kehoe Beach in California into vibrant works of art.
With playful spirits and treasure-hunter’s enthusiasm, they compete to find the smallest, most far-traveled, or quirkiest bits of plastic. Everything that they collect from the beach turns into a captivating creation of art.
Working closely with the inventive team of AI software developers at Instant Studio, we are now offering you the chance to create your own Plastically Possible art.
Understanding the value of original human creativity combined with cutting edge technology, the team at InstantStudio worked closely with Ocean Recovery Alliance, and Richard and Judith Lang from Beach Plastic, to create AI artwork that aligns with their artistic vision and design principles. The new Plastically Impossible creations take on a form of their own, but stay true to the idea of turning beach plastic into colourful sea animals. Behind the scenes, algorithms and finely-tuned prompts are turning simple user selections (in this case, animal thumbnails) into accurately defined sea animals, made from a combination of small pieces of trash plastic. This in only the beginning…we have many extensions of this cool idea in the pipeline. To discover how GenAI can be applied creatively and effectively to your business, visit InstantStudio.ai.
Collaborating Partner - The Hong Kong Shark Foundation
The Hong Kong Shark Foundation (HKSF) is happy to be teaming up with Ocean Recovery Alliance and InstantStudio for “Plastically Possible”, a bold project fusing art, technology and ocean conservation, thanks to the great plastic artwork from Judith and Richard Lang from Beached Plastic in California.
The platform allows you to create stunning AI-generated images of sharks and other marine life with InstantStudio. If you get quirky extra fins or surprise tails? No problem! These artworks spark conversations to drive awareness and action for ocean health. You can just re-generate them and come up with another one! Each image will always be different in its designs and colors.
Share your creations to inspire smarter choices, from cutting plastic use to rethinking seafood consumption. Every image creates ripples of change. The more you share your creations, the more people will ask questions of where, why, how and maybe if some of that plastic was actually theirs at one point. Either way, it gets people thinking, wondering and hopefully acting in new ways.
Protect sharks, save our ocean, and support our HKSF NGO.
Visit https://instantstudio.ai/plasticallypossible/ to create, share, and make waves today. Click here if you'd like to donate to to our work via our partner, Ocean Recovery Alliance's link, and we will be able to share your support between both NGOs, each working on important ocean projects.
Every image creates ripples of change!
