I just finished reading this piece, and it really makes you stop and think about the sheer weight of our environmental footprint. The part that stuck with me most was the discussion on "environmental generational amnesia" the idea that we accept a degraded planet as the new normal because we’ve lost the baseline of what a healthy ecosystem actually looks like. It’s a sobering concept to realize how much we’ve collectively forgotten in just a few decades.
